Error when accessing share from Windows 7 64bit Enterprise: "A device attached to the system is not functioning."
Hello, we are big company with many netowrk shared resources. Recently we discovered inability to access some folders on a file server (this is Windows Server 2003 which shares resources to our SharePoint services) from newly deployed Win7 x64 clients. A folder with about 9000 of files when displayed from runas box returns error: " [path] is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. A device attached to the system is not functioning" When I open a folder just next to this one on the same share with less files (apporx. 1300) - this is possible. Permissions are configured the same on both folders. Nothing is logged in Event Viewer. I have also tried to access from Win7 32 bit - with the same error on the same folder. The problematic folder is accessible from our standard old client Windows XP 32bit using the same user account. I could not find an answer on forums here. Thank you in advance! MichalL
